Q. At the Stitches & Craft show I saw a demonstrator gathering one layer of fabric to another. I've tried this with the foot that came with my machine but it gathers both layers. Help!
A. You will need to use the Gathering Foot to gather one layer of fabric to another. The Gathering Foot has a tongue which stops the top layer gathering while still allowing the bottom layer to gather. Because Baby Lock overlockers have full range differential feed, you can get a perfect 2:1 gather. -

Q. I was looking through the Evolve workbook and I noticed the bias binders. What is the difference between the double fold and single fold bias binders?
A. Double fold binders fold the binding top and bottom completely encasing raw edges. Double fold is suitable for woven fabrics such as cotton and linen. Also lycra as a great finish to bathers and leotards. Single fold binders only fold the top of the binding leaving underneath as a raw edge. The raw edge then gets finished within the coverstitch. Single fold is preferable when less bulk is required. -
