It began as a dream to redesign the industrial overlocker for home use.

1963 -First Prototype
The dream was soon to become a reality with the first working prototype.

1967 -First Baby Lock Overlocker
The EF-205 was the first mass produced Baby Lock overlocker soon followed by the EF-305 in 1968.

1970 -First Baby Lock 3-thread Overlocker
The EF-405 featuring feed dog, Magic slide thread guide and super looper.

1971 -First Baby Lock 4-thread Overlocker
The EA-605 overlocker and double chain stitch needles can be used interchangeably or together for a safty stitch. Cut and sew at the same time.

1977 -Adjustable Stitch Width
The BI3-407 4-way stitch adjustment from 2.5 to 5mm. Handles fabric from organdy to denim with ease.

1984 -Color Coded Threading
The BL3-418 new cosmetics and new color coaded tension dials.

1986 -Free-arm Overlocking
The BL4-4228 featuring dial adjustable stitch width and free overlocking.

1987 -Differential Feed Overlocker
The BL4-436DF with differential feed, puckering and uneven feed is eliminated.

1990 -QTS Threading System
The BL4-838D, new design and featuring QTS, Quick Threading System.

1990 -Household Blindhemmer
In 1994 the Baby Lock Blindhemmer won the Good Design Prize in Japan.

1993 -2 Needles, 4 Threads
The BLE1, Eclipse 4-thread overlocker. Featuring the Jet-Air Thread System This model won the Invention Grand Prix of the year in Japan.

1997 -2 Needles, 4 Thread
The BLE1AT, Imagine 4-thread overlocker. Featuring the Automatic Thread Delivery system, (ATD) and Jet Air Threading System.

1999 -5 Needles, 8 Threads-
The BLE8, Evolve overlocker featuring 8 threads, 3 loopers and 5 needles. The first overlocker to offer overlocking, cover stitching and chain stitching in the same operation.
2004 - 7 Needles, No Threads -
The EMB7 Embellisher, a new and revolutionary machine to the Australian market featuring barbed needles.

2004 - Exclusive Wave Stitch
The BLE3ATW, Imagine Wave complete with patented wave stitch technology.

2006 - Computerised Sewing Machines
The new range BL9900 & BL8850 sewing machines are released for the first time ever on the Australian market.

2006 - Mid-range overlocker
The BL097 Stellar hits the market with 180 degree rotating door for easy threading.

2006 - Best of the Best
The BLE8W is released with all the features of the Evolve PLUS the exclusive wave stitch and a total of 58 stitch combinations.
